PAPEETE AIRPORT CLOSED - 14 June 2010 Air Tahiti Nui and Air New Zealand have advised that, due to strike action by government employees (including airport emergency fire crews) all wide-body jet flights to/from Tahiti's Fa'aa (Papeete) Airport have been cancelled or suspended. There is no indication of how long the strike will last. All bookings ticketed by Tuesday 25 May 2010 will continue to have current baggage allowance. Domestic Flights The maximum weight for one piece of baggage will change from 25kgs to 23kgs International Flights Flights to Australia, South Pacific, Asia and London (via Asia) Economy Class - from 26 May you will only be able to take one checked bag up to 23kg (currently, the maximum weight is 20kg in total). Business Class - from 26 May you can take up to three checked bags up to 23kgs each (currently, the maximum weight is 30kg in total). Flights to United States and London (via Asia) Economy fares - from 26 May you will only be able to take one checked bag up to 23kgs (currently the maximum weight is 20kg in total) Business class - from 26 May you can take up to three checked bags up to 23kgs each (currently the allowance is two pieces with a maximum weight of 64 kgs). Please note: · This limit will increase to two checked bags (up to 23kgs each) if you are travelling on a Works Deluxe fare to Australia or the Pacific, or flying Premium Economy on a long haul trip. · Star Alliance Gold customers (including Airpoints Gold and Gold Elite) can take an additional 23kg up to a maximum of 3 pieces. · Only one piece of cabin baggage is permitted for all customers travelling to, through or from the USA Please contact your Orbit consultant with any queries regarding the below changes and bookings currently in place.
